Analyze and report on variations between standard and current product costs on existing products. Review for propriety bills of material and labor routings. Reporting and explaining trends in product cost variances to prior year and budget. Record manual journal entries necessary to properly state sales and related cost of sales. Responsible for ensuring that all system maintenance and timely report generation are performed in preparation for monthly current cost rollups. Support new product launch with financial data and analysis. Create a tracking process to verify that cost savings initiatives are accurately reported and follow-up to ensure system updates reflect these changes.
Inventory Analysis: Record necessary manual journal entries for inventory transactions. Reconcile perpetual inventory records to general ledger. Provide commentary to inventory levels, specifically any change to budget, forecasts or prior periods. Provide data to support profit center in their efforts to manage inventory. Analysis of key drivers, trends and large fluctuation in inventory with and emphasis on improving the existing reporting system. Inventory turns analysis.
Spending Analysis: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, including spending and the development of overhead and efficiency rates. Review monthly spending and report variations to budget, forecast and prior periods. Determine if spending variations indicate unusual trends.
Physical Inventory Control: Conduct and reconcile annual physical inventory.
